Nitrogen and Soil Fertility

چکیده
amounts involved are much smaller. The amount of boron in the 7-ton potato crop (if determined) would have been about 0.2 pound. In the case of boron (and to a lesser degree the other micronutrients) if the soil contains excessive amounts, toxic quantities are absorbed by plants and growth is restricted. The need for a reasonable balance in amounts of available nutrients in the soil has been postulated. When the available supply of a given nutrient becomes depleted, this supply is a limiting factor in plant growth. Then the addition of increments of this nutrient to the soil as a fertilizer will result in increased yields of dry matter.

Determination of the best concentration of cyanobacteria to improve soil fertility in rangeland (Case study: Jamabroud catchment)
Cyanobacteria play an important role in increasing soil fertility as one of the biological soil crust in rangelands. They have a significant effect on improving soil fertility because of nitrogen and carbon fixation. In this study, the effect of different concentrations of cyanobacteria as one of the soil biomasses and finally to determine the best concentration for optimizing soil fertility in...

Given the limited resources of fossil energy, and the environmental risks of excess fertilizer on crops, it is time to reappraise the potential role of food legume biological nitrogen fixation (BNF) as sources of nitrogen for cropping systems in China. 150 soil samples across 17 provinces and 2 municipalities of China were collected and analyzed. A distribution map of the soil fertilities and t...

mineral and organic N sources (farmyard manure) on maize yield, N uptake and soil fertility was assisted in the field experiment carriedout on silty clay loam soil at new developmental farm of the university of agriculture, Peshawar Pakistanduring 2014. Combined dose of N provided from all sources was applied @150 kg ha-1. There were four replications and 6 treatmentsi.e., (T1) control, (T2) 15...

Effects of organic manure (poultry manure) applied alone and integrated with inorganic fertilizer (urea) on yield and yield component, N-uptake and soil fertility in wheat-maize cropping system was evaluated in a field experiment at Nuclear Institute for Food and Agriculture, Peshawar, Pakistan. Poultry manure was applied alone and were integrated in different proportions with mineral nitrogeno...
متن کاملSpatial Variability of Soil Fertility and Identification of Management Zones on Hummocky Terrain
A field study was conducted on hummocky terrain at the Manitoba Zero Tillage Association Research Farm near Brandon, Manitoba, Canada to determine the variability of crop yield as related to landscape position, soil properties, weed populations and plant disease. This information was used to develop a method for delineation of management units related to precision farming. Variable-rate fertili...
متن کاملShort-Term Response of Sasa Dwarf Bamboo to a Change of Soil Nitrogen Fertility in a Forest Ecosystem in Northern Hokkaido, Japan
In forest ecosystems, a change of soil nitrogen (N) cycling after disturbance is regulated by various factors. Sasa dwarf bamboo (hereafter referred to as Sasa) is an understory plant that grows thickly on the forest floor in northern Hokkaido, Japan. However, the ecosystem function of Sasa after disturbances in the soil N cycling is not fully understood. The purpose of this study was to determ...
